Here’re the current best cards for travel. I actually have all of them right now so my referral links are included, and I’d be super happy if you use them if you decide any are a fit.
CapitalOne Venture X https://capital.one/3Xwk6mK
- Annual Fee: $395
- 75,000 bonus points after spending $4k in the first 3 months of account opening. These are worth $750+ depending on usage
- My favorite usage is transferring to airline partners such as AirFrance’s FlyingBlue program. I’ve been able to book round trip business class to Europe for 200k points which is a $6-10k ticket.
- 2x points for all spending
- $300 annual statement credit for travel booked through CapitalOne Travel (recommend using for hotels or cars, not airfare)
- $120 towards Global Entry
- Access to Priority Pass lounges worldwide (unlimited visits w/2 guests per card)
- Access to CapitalOne Lounges
- 10k annual points reward
- No foreign transaction fees
Another good CapitalOne card is the Venture Rewards. CapitalOne makes it easy to combine points from multiple accounts into one.
My recommendation is to keep any cards until the annual fee hits, then you can call in and see if there are any retention offers and if not, you can cancel and have the fee refunded within 30 days of it posting.
